Erratic Geometries
Eccentric Shapes, are geometric drawings, invented marks, or marks that reference themselves and appear from the nature of the materials used. To speak about drawing, the use of pencils, charcoal, or chalk as examples, the camera isn't usually considered.  Yet photography, writing (drawing) with light, most often implies the use of a camera.  For these works the camera has been eliminated to focus on mark-making, photographic materials, and darkroom processes.  The crossover of drawing and photography, with each communicating through elusive content or recognition of a surface and treatment, are what is evident. The final photographic image no longer requires visual accuracy, representation of a specific object, or documenting. Each piece is unique and can be seen as a Concrete Photograph born of material and method.
